Kung Fu Kung Fu is an ancient Chinese form of the martial arts; from which many other styles have been derived. It originated in northern China about 3,000 years ago. At Master Lu's Health Center, Master Cheng Tsang Lu teaches Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Hsing Yi and Ba Gua. Shaolin Kung Fu was initially developed in the Shaolin Buddhist temples as both a form of exercise as well as a form of self-defense, and has been passed down in the traditional manner from master to student for centuries. Shaolin Kung Fu incorporates movements from several different animal styles such as tiger, snake, monkey and praying mantis. Kung Fu is an excellent exercise that improves strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness all at once, and has added benefits of improving coordination and memory. The Hsing Yi and Pa Kua we teach are traditional systems of internal Kung Fu (like Tai Chi) that help the practitioner to focus their mind, body and spirit as a single being.
