The acupuncture needles are very fine. Sometimes you won’t even feel the needles at all. There may be times when you will feel a heaviness or sharp sensation. That type of sensation is the energy coming to the needle. When you feel that sensation that means that energy and blood are coming to the needle.

The needles are left in for around 30 min. During the 30 min. depending on your treatment plan you will either sit or lay down to relax. We will have relaxing music for you to help you feel more relaxed. After 30 min we will then take out the needles and give you health recommendations to help you even more with your health condition.

The acupuncture needles are very thin.   They are not like the needles that you will see at your doctor’s office or in the hospital. Because they are so thin and fine you will hardly even feel them. There may be some instances where you may feel a sharpness or pinch like feeling, but it is not painful.

You don’t need to wear anything in particular. If you need to change clothes we have gowns that you can wear. Many conditions are treated without even taking clothes off. Sometimes it may be helpful to wear some loose clothing.

The number of treatments depends on the condition and how long you may have had it for. Typically a series of acupuncture treatments are the best. What we typically recommend is to do at first around five treatments. After that, we will then evaluate to see if you need more treatments or not.

Many times it is best to do a series of treatments upfront and closer together in frequency that is the relief period. After the relief period, we can spread treatments apart to correct any underlying issues. After the relief period depending on how you feel you can come in for maintenance and on an as-needed basis.
